Studio Prokopiou is a collaborative photography project started by Phillip Prokopiou and Panagiotis Poimenidis. Their work is informed by their love of high-camp, kitsch conviction and the sub-cultural landscape of London.
In 2014 the duo set up a space in South London’s Bussey Building. Their studio enabled them to create the illusion of the other worldy and they began to create portraits of artists and performers. The use of dramatic lighting and exaggerated art direction lends the work a cinematic feel and invites the viewer to participate in their vision of the post-queer community.
